In the New York Times article ‘Why is Dining Alone So Difficult?’, Priya Krishna gives a nice overview of the topic. I’m proud to be mentioned and to have my book, DINING ALONE In the Company of Solitude mentioned as part of this New York Times article. I believe that ‘dining alone’ is a complex subject and an aspect of the topic has to do with how comfortable someone is in their own skin. In my long-term project, DINING ALONE In the Company of Solitude, I share my portraiture of lone diners set against restaurant interiors a their backdrops, as a metaphor to visually discribe the complexities of solitude.
