“It Takes a Village” –Thank you! →

I am forever grateful and honored that my book, 'DINING ALONE In the Company of Solitude' has been picked up by The Guardian. It really does 'Take a Village' to make a photography book. For now, I'd like to thank just a few of those who have been instrumental to me: I'll start with Andrea Smith, and Daylight Books for their enthusiasm and advocacy at large. Thank you, Laura Pressley for writing the beautiful foreward and really 'getting it' from the beginning! Since this project drew from my decades-old archives, I am grateful to have had Elizabeth Avedon help me with picture edit decisions (three decades worth of images to pair down!). Bonnie Briant (www.bonniebriant.com) designed this beautiful book for me in 2019, furthered the sequencing and updating the book after I decided to expand the scope of my book project to include my part II which addressed the issues specific to the pandemic.

Sherry Edwards, copy editor was instrumental in ensuring that my words and concepts were executed into polished form. Thank you to Ursula Damm, Creative Director at Daylight, @GabrielleFastman, Copy Editor at Daylight, Sam Darby, Marketing, Taj Forer and Michael Itkoff and their staff for all of the finessing and collaborative work. Last but not least, I am so grateful to every single one of my subjects who participated in this project.

Please come visit ICP - International Center of Photography for the book fest and book signinng. I will be there on May 21st most of the day at the Daylight Books table. https://www.icp.org/events/photobookfest
